Harris County Beekeepers Association — Governing Documents

Article I — Name

The name of this organization shall be the Harris County Beekeepers Association (HCBA).

Article II — Purpose

The purpose of this association shall be to promote the interests of beekeeping; to encourage the study of bees and beekeeping; to disseminate information regarding bees and beekeeping; to promote fellowship among beekeepers; and to cooperate with other organizations having similar objectives.

Article III — Membership

Membership shall be open to any person interested in bees and beekeeping. Annual dues are $20 for individuals and $25 for families. Dues are payable at the beginning of each calendar year.

Article IV — Officers

The officers of this association shall be a President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Officers shall be elected annually by the membership at the November meeting and shall take office in January.

Article V — Meetings

Regular meetings shall be held monthly. The time and place of meetings shall be determined by the Board of Directors. Special meetings may be called by the President or by a majority of the Board.

Article VI — Amendments

These bylaws may be amended at any regular meeting of the association by a two-thirds vote of the members present, provided that the amendment has been submitted in writing at the previous regular meeting.
