We strive to protect and educate the general public about the honey bees. Since 2006, honey bees and other pollinators in the U.S. and throughout the world have experienced ongoing and rapid population declines. The continuation of this crisis threatens the stability of ecosystems, the economy and our food supply, as one in three bites of food are dependent on pollinator services.
Four pesticides commonly used on crops to kill insects and fungi also kill honeybee larvae within their hives.
We are a small group of beekeepers, bee enthusiasts, and honey lovers who live, work and pollinate in the greatest city in the world, who happen to share a love for the humble honeybee and her delicious doings.
Our goal is to provide beekeeping education and networking opportunities for individuals and families enthusiastic about honeybees and beekeeping
We are open to both amateur and professional beekeepers. Some members have a couple of hives and some have been keeping bees for decades. Others are just getting started and have yet to set up a hive
We meet at the Golden Acres Community Center on the 4th Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm (6:30 is social time)
Friends and Visitors always welcome
